Water Purification and Oxygen Enrichment

The company Rexroth GmbH set the briefing of redesigning their existing buoyancy water purification system. The solution is inspired by a sandpiper mimicry. Its unique shape and floating skills achieve a overall better solution which is more efficient and vivid than its predecessor. The main requirement during the whole process was sustainability which lead us to the use of parts of existing systems like pipe connector from public traffic and buoys from seafaring. The idea was not to create another manufacturing sector and saving materials by using what is already available.

By using perforated metal plates for dirt protection the systems got more attractive for public spaces which was by time mainly used in an industrial context. The dirt protection created a visible Moiré pattern which gets the attention of passer-by.  - Realized with Arnold Erben
